– Only you or a person you authorize to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. To authorize another person to make a verifiable request on your behalf, you must provide that person with written permission clearly describing their authority to make a request on your behalf. That individual must also be able to verify their identity with us and provide us with their authority to act on your behalf. An individual to whom you have provided Power of Attorney of the South African Law may also make a request on your behalf.

– In order to verify your identity, we will collect your:

  • Phone Number

 

– We will use this information to verify your identity using reasonable methods in order to process your rights These methods may include matching information you provided to us with information already maintained by us or through the use of a third- party identity verification service.

 

– We will use the information you provide to verify your identity and to respond to your rights request and for no other purpose.

– We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we are not able to verify your identity or authority to make the request or confirm the personal information relates to you.

 

– You are not required to have a Member account with us to make a verifiable request.

Access

The right to be provided with a copy of your personal data. You may have the right to know certain information about our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information for the 12 months preceding the date of your request. You may also have the right to request that we provide you with specific pieces of your personal information.

The right to require us to delete your personal data—in certain situations. Personal Data to be deleted , will only be data captured in your Member Area/Account. Please note that we have no control on data captured on our suppliers, service providers or affiliate partners' websites or to third party websites

The right to require us to restrict processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, eg if you contest the accuracy of the data

Data portability

The right to receive the personal data you provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or transmit that data to a third party—in certain situations

To object

The right to object: at any time to your personal data being processed for direct marketing (including profiling);in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal data, eg processing carried out for the purpose of our legitimate interests unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing to continue or the processing is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims

Not to be subject to automated individual decision making

The right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you

The right to withdraw consent

If you have provided us with a consent to use your personal data you have a right to withdraw that consent easily at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of our use of your personal data in reliance on that consent before it was withdrawn.

• The requester must complete Form 2 and submit this form together with a request fee, to the information officer of the private body.
• The form must be submitted to the information officer of the private body at his/her address, fax number, or electronic mail address.
• The form must:

Provide sufficient particulars to enable the information officer of the private body to identify the record/s requested and to identify the requester,

Indicate which form of access is required,

Specify a postal address or fax number of the requester in the Republic,

Identify the right that the requester is seeking to exercise or protect, and provide an explanation of why the requested record is required for the exercise or protection of that right,

If in addition to a written reply, the requester wishes to be informed of the decision on the request in any other manner, to state that manner and the necessary particulars to be informed in the other manner,
If the request is made on behalf of another person, to submit proof of the capacity in which the requester is making the request, to the reasonable satisfaction of the information officer of the private body.

    • To provide our Services to you, to communicate with you about your use of our Services and for other customer service purposes;

    • To provide information that you have requested to receive from us in response to your opt-in requests;

    • To provide our Services at the request of our Clients;

    • To administer Events;

    • To improve our Sites and Services by providing personalized experiences, location customization, personalized help, and instructions;

    • For marketing and advertising purposes; for example, we may use your information to display targeted advertisements to you on our Sites and to assist us in advertising our Services on third party websites;

    • To send you email, follow-up questions about your Event or your participation in an Event, news and newsletters, promotions, and/or invitations to visit the Site;

    • To better understand how users access and use our Sites and Services, both on an aggregated and individualized basis, and for other research purposes. Clients should note that we may use information we receive or collect regarding Consumers (including without limitation via an Event registration page) in accordance with the terms of this Policy, including in the manner set forth above. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in certain contexts, we collect information on behalf of our Clients subject to contractual requirements that limit our ability to use and transfer your information in ways that are narrower than those in this Policy (e.g., the information be only used as necessary to provide Services to the Client and/or for other specified purposes).   4. The Personal Information supplied is mandatory to enable the company to provide the required services.

  5. The Personal Information processed by the responsible party may transfer the Personal Information to a third country or International organization. As far as possible the responsible party will transfer information on a secure way to parties that have proper data security measures in place, however due to the nature of travel suppliers the required security might not in place. You hereby authorise the responsible party to transfer your information to third parties that might not have the acceptable data security in place to enable the responsible party to complete the service that is required by you.

  6. The following consequences will apply if the data subject fails to provide accurate Personal Information:

    • The relevant transaction might be cancelled with no or a diminished refund amount

    • You might not be allowed to use the services purchased, e.g. Wrong name given for airtickets.

  7. The data subject has the right at any time to rectify the Personal Information collected, object to the processing of Personal Information (subject to legislation) and to lodge a complaint at the Information Regulator  (https://inforegulator.org.za)
